On the Excretion Amount of Urinary Pregnanediol in Normal Puerperal Women

Abstract
|
|
|
In order to measure the excretion amount of urinary pregnanediol during the puerperium the urine specimens of 7 cases of normal puerperal women within 7 days after delivery were used by the modified Stimmel´s method (Kinosita method) and, as controls, the urine specimens of the same parturient women before delivery were used.
The following results were obtained:
1) The excretion amount of urinary pregnanediol before delivery showed considerable individual differences and no pregnanediol in the urine was isolated after 5th to 7th postpartum day
2) The periods of disappearance of: urinary- pregnanediol after delivery showed no relationship to the excretion amount of urinary pregnanediol before delivery.
